Twisted Paleo Baked Goods

Baked goods are sold by the batch (12 for muffins and 24 for cookies) and the price shown is the price per item.  Paleo baked goods should be transferred to an air-tight container, and will keep well for a number of days and also freeze well. While refrigeration isn't required, they will stay fresher longer if refrigerated.

In my baked goods that call for chocolate chips, I list dark chocolate chips in the ingredients. Due to the small amount of dairy and sugar they contain, dark chocolate chips are considered Paleo friendly, as long as they contain no soy, gluten, corn syrup, vegetable oils or some other ingredient not allowed on Paleo. But I have two options if someone wants organic chocolate that is strict Paleo and contains no dairy or cane sugar and is also vegan.

One option is Santa Barbara Organic 70% Cacao Chips made from single origin Criollo Cacao from the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. These are sweetened with organic raw coconut sugar. Their third ingredient is cocoa butter which is extracted from cocoa beans by fermenting, drying, roasting, and then pressing them.  

The other option for strict Paleo and Vegan chocolate chips is Hu Gems, which are also organic and 70% cacao. These are made from the same three ingredients as the Santa Barbara chips. The only difference is their size and shape, making one more suitable than the other for certain recipes. 

Because of their cost, I need to charge $.25 more per item. These are available for use in any recipe with chocolate chips. The only item that has this built into the cost is the Paleo and Vegan Chocolate Chips Cookies. These cookies are also available as Paleo Friendly or as Vegan and Paleo Friendly.

These products are homemade and not subject to state inspection. As a certified cottage food producer, I must personally distribute my products directly to my customers and cannot use a delivery service or ship through the mail.

Almond Butter and Cashew Butter Cookies
These will remind you of peanut butter cookies that have been flattened with a fork, but these are crispy on the edges and a little soft and gooey in the center, and so much healthier.

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
What gives these cookies their unique flavor is the really dark ghee (Indian clarified butter) that I make for these. I tried making them with purchased ghee but they didn't have the same depth and rich caramel flavor.

Chocolate Drizzled Coconut Macaroons
A macaroon is a cookie that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Traditional macaroons are loaded with sugar and typically are made with sweetened condensed milk. I make my own version of this by simmering coconut milk and honey until it is the same consistency, making them much healthier.

Double Chocolate Fudge Cookies
These cookies are rich, fudgy, and packed with chocolate! They are soft, gooey, and will satisfy even your most intense chocolate craving.

Paleo Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookies
These are made with dark chocolate chips that contain a small amount of sugar and milk, which is why I call these Paleo Friendly. I have tried these with both eggs and ones I make with chia seeds and I prefer the texture and flavor provided by the chia eggs. But if you prefer I can make these with eggs.

Vegan and Paleo Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookies
The only difference between these and the Paleo Friendly ones above is that these are made with dark chocolate chips that are vegan and made with unsweetened chocolate and cane sugar. So these are also considered Paleo Friendly.  (I know, it's gets confusing.)

Paleo and Vegan “Oatmeal” Cherry Cookies
People I give these to are surprised when they learn they have no oatmeal since they taste so much like the ones many of us grew up with. While it was usually raisins that were the mainstay of these cookies, I prefer dried cherries. When I first made these, I didn't realize that most dried cherries have a lot of added sugar. I found some with no sugar but these were too tart. Then I found some infused with apple juice making them Paleo and tasted better than the ones with added sugar.

Ingredients:  Organic Almond Flour, Organic Maple Syrup, Dried Tart Cherries Infused with Apple Juice, Unsweetened Shredded Coconut, Organic Coconut Palm Shortening, Organic Coconut Oil, Cinnamon, Organic Coconut Flour, Organic Vanilla Extract, Baking Soda, Sea Salt.

Paleo and Vegan Snickerdoodles
Snickerdoodles are a timeless classic, beloved for generations. I’ve eaten a lot of different types, and my favorite snickerdoodles are the soft puffy ones - not the crispy kind you dunk in milk or coffee. I made a non-Paleo version for years that I loved and wasn’t sure it could be replicated with Paleo ingredients, especially one without eggs. But these exceeded my expectations! Plus I like not feeling guilty if I eat more than one since they are so healthy.

Paleo blueberry muffins are a cozy way to start your morning, but I like eating these any time of day for a healthy snack. They’re moist, fluffy, and have a burst of fresh blueberries in every bite.

Blueberry Muffins with Maple Flakes
These are identical to the above muffins but with the addition of organic maple flakes sprinkled to the tops before baking. Maple flakes are pure maple syrup dehydrated into crunchy flakes that look like tiny corn flakes. I coarsely chop them so they resemble turbinado sugar, but so much healthier and with much fewer calories. If you have a sweet tooth at all, I would recommend these.

Carrot Cake Muffins
I had a request from one of my taste testers for carrot cake muffins without nuts, raisins, and coconut so this is what I refer to as my no frills version. But I am working on another version that includes all the ingredients typically found in a carrot cake.

Lemon poppy seed muffins are a classic. They have the perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors. What sets these apart from the ones made with grain is all the extra protein provided by the almond flour (which is really finely ground almonds) that will leave you feeling satisfied.

Twisted Paleo Rubs and Seasonings


Chile Molido Rub

This is a blend of ground red New Mexico chiles and other spices that are toasted and freshly ground to produce a Southwestern steak with layers of flavor.
This is available in Hot, Medium and Mild.

Jamaican Jerk Seasoning

Scotch Bonnet chiles and a dozen other local Jamaican spices create a seasoning that has a kick to it with a slightly sweet hint. This comes in Jamaican Hot, Midwestern Hot and Gentler Jerk.

Memphis-Style BBQ Rub

Memphis BBQ is all about the dry rub, which provides a slightly sweet savory crust that is absorbed by the pork as it is slow cooked until it is fall-off-the-bone tender.

Sweet and Spicy Mixed Nuts


Paleo Sweet & Spicy Mixed Nuts

These start with a spice mix that is combined with almonds, cashews, pecans and walnuts. A hot maple toffee is poured over the nuts, then roasted until golden brown.
